Available during school hours

LA employs two social workers to support the social and emotional needs of students in order to help them access their education. Our social workers determine student needs through assessments and make referrals to other resources when needed. They support student mental health through individual and group therapy, crisis management, consultation and advocacy.

Social workers receive referrals from students, parents, advisors, faculty and staff who are concerned about emotional problems impacting students and their successful participation in school. They can be reached by phone, email, or in person. Confidential meetings with the social workers are usually scheduled during study halls and other non-academic times.
