Twelfth Grade: Post-Secondary Planning

The senior year is dedicated to post-secondary planning, career, and the college-application process. Our deep knowledge and lessons learned from previous graduating classes and student searches inform a balanced list of recommended career training programs, colleges, and universities that align with a student’s needs. We also assist them with their college application and advise them during the final decision process.

Individual Meeting

Students will meet a minimum of 1-2 times with their CAC counselor in the Fall. Additional meetings are added as needed and/or requested.

College Visits to Lincoln Academy

Each fall, between 50-60 different colleges and universities from across the country and around the world visit LA to meet with Lincoln Academy students.

Testing

SAT in Spring: given in March and May at Lincoln Academy
TOEFL/Duolingo recommended if applicable

The Career and Academic Counseling Office at LA is here to support your learning and growth.

School Counselors provide academic, social-emotional, college and career, and advocacy support. Throughout your time at LA students come to the CAC office:

to talk about how things are going at school.
to change a class.
to talk about what they want to do after high school.
to find a scholarship.
for academic advice.
to get a copy of their schedule.
to ask their counselor to do a credit check to see if they are on track to meet graduation requirements.
