Senior Tea

Tuesday, June 4

What is Senior Tea?

Who: Seniors and guests served by faculty and the National Honor Society Juniors.

What: A traditional celebration of graduation seniors with faculty pouring tea and serving pastry and snacks to the students.

The event provides an informal setting to walk around and greet other students, guests, and teachers. This is great opportunity for guests to chat with students and teachers in a strictly social setting. We hope you can join us.

Where: Alumni Dining Commons

When: 3:00 pm

Senior Picnic

Wednesday, June 5

What is Senior Picnic?

Who: Seniors and Faculty only

What: This is event is packed with fun, information and preparation for Senior Week ceremonies. Starting at 10:30 Seniors will practice marching (this part is mandatory), followed by yearbook distribution (yearbooks for seniors are free thanks to the Class of 2024 Yearbook, Cap & Gown Fund) and a pizza picnic at 11:30. Students will get a brief introduction to their roles as alumni of Lincoln Academy and be treated to ice cream by the Alumni Council and our Development office team. Yard games and pens for signing yearbooks are available.

Class Night & Reception

Wednesday, June 5

What is Class Night?

Who: Seniors and Guests

What: An evening of award presentations honoring Senior achievements at Lincoln Academy and highlighting future aspirations. The school will give away over $250,000 in scholarships during the course of the evening. The event is usually about an hour and a half, and families are invited but not required to attend.

Following the event will be a small reception for award recipients, donors and award representatives.

Where: Stanley Waltz Field (rain location: Nelson Bailey Gym)

When: 6:00 pm

Dress: Dressy Casual (wear shoes appropriate for walking on grass)

Family Portrait Station (Before Baccalaureate Parade)

Thursday, June 6

Who: Seniors and families

What: An opportunity to have a family portrait taken with your graduate in cap & gown. These photos will be posted on Flickr and can be downloaded free for printing or sharing. Instructions for downloading photos from Flickr.

Where: next to the Bus Loop and below the Dining Commons (rain location: Fishbowl).

When: 4:30-5:30 pm

Dress: Seniors in cap and gown. Families: optional.

Baccalaureate March and Ceremony

Thursday, June 6

What is Baccalaureate?

Who: Seniors and Guests

What: Baccalaureate March and Baccalaureate Ceremony

Where:
Assemble in downtown Damariscotta in the Municipal Parking Lot behind Renys
March to Stanley Waltz Field
Baccalaureate Ceremony will occur on the Stanley Waltz Field (rain location: Nelson Bailey Gym)

When:
6:15 pm arrive at Municipal Parking Lot
6:30 pm start marching from Municipal Parking Lot
7:00 Ceremony begins

Dress for Seniors: Caps and Gowns, comfortable shoes for walking from downtown to the Lincoln Academy campus)

Dress: Dressy Casual (wear shoes appropriate for walking on grass)

The March is weather permitting. The Baccalaureate Ceremony will be moved into the gymnasium if rain prevents an outdoor event.

Commencement/Graduation Ceremony

Friday, June 7

Who: Seniors, Faculty/Staff and Guests

What: Commencement Ceremony is the culmination of Senior Week, as students and their guests celebrate their graduation. More than a thousand people will gather on Stanley Waltz Field to watch the Class of 2024 receive diplomas. The ceremony will include speeches and diplomas are presented by senior advisors. Commencement lasts about 90 minutes.

Where: Lincoln Academy – Stanley Waltz Field (rain location: Nelson Bailey Gym)

When: 1:00 pm (seniors arrive by 11:45 am)

Dress for seniors: Caps and Gowns

Dress for guests: Dressy Casual (wear shoes appropriate for walking on grass)

In case of rain, graduation will be moved inside the gym. This decision will be made by 9 am. Six tickets will be distributed to each senior before senior week. Seniors who need additional tickets can request them using this form.

Family Reception for Dormitory Students

Friday, June 7

Who: Dormitory Students, Faculty/Staff and Guests

What: Families of boarding students are invited to enjoy refreshments with dorm parents and other faculty and staff after graduation. This is an opportunity to meet and thank the close community of people who have supported students through the school year. 

Where: Lincoln Academy – Kiah Bayley Hall Dormitory Courtyard and Lounge
