Lincoln Academy Ambassadors line up to serve ice cream to incoming freshmen at last year’s social.
Lincoln Academy invites rising freshmen, transfer students and their families to the campus Dining Commons courtyard on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm for our annual 8th Grade Ice Cream Social. The evening offers incoming students from the Class of 2030 a chance to meet future classmates, connect with school leadership, and learn about the upcoming transition to high school.
Unexpected reunions are common as families rediscover old friends who are joining the Lincoln Academy community, and students love socializing with their new classmates.
Ayesha Giberson ‘27, in her third year as an LA Ambassador, sums up the evening perfectly; “It’s an important event because it allows incoming freshmen to experience Lincoln a little more before summer, and allows them to socialize and create new bonds with people from other schools.”
The event kicks off at 6:30 PM with ice cream and refreshments. At 7:00 PM, school administrators and Student Ambassadors will share essential summer timeline details and advice for the upcoming school year. “It’s very important to us that students and families feel comfortable with our schedule and expectations for the new school year, so they can focus on graduation and summer fun now,” adds Hilary Petersen, Associate Director of Local Enrollment.
Following the presentation, families are welcome to mingle while students head to the turf field for games supervised by faculty and Student Ambassadors. Concessions and Lincoln Academy merchandise will be available for purchase. In the event of rain, the event will move indoors to the Dining Commons.
