Lincoln Academy’s 2026 Peter J. Benner ‘92 Job Fair took place on Thursday, March 26 with over 40 businesses and 800 students in attendance. Every Lincoln Academy student plus seniors from Wiscasset and Boothbay High Schools and eighth graders from Great Salt Bay, Nobleboro Central School, Bristol Community School, and Jefferson Village School visited the fair, which took place in the LA gym.

Many businesses represented at the fair staffed their tables with LA alumni who live and work in the area. “We love having alumni on campus to talk to students about their own career path,” said Heather D’Ippolito, Lincoln Academy’s Director of Community Engagement and Development. “It’s been especially exciting to see recent alumni representing local companies. Of course students are excited to see former classmates, but it also helps them appreciate that there are opportunities for them right here in this community that can start immediately after high school.”

This year over 40 students created resumes and shared them with local businesses. The students worked with the Career and Academic Counseling Office in the prior weeks to create and polish their resumes in preparation for the fair.

Lincoln’s annual career fair was named for Peter Benner, who graduated from LA in 1992. He passed away in February of 2022, and his Lincoln Academy classmates donated in his honor to make this event possible.

“We’ve heard from at least four businesses that have hired students who approached them at the fair this year,” said Juliet Kelsey Holmes, a member of the Class of 1992 and current LA board member. “It’s so rewarding to see students and employers connecting and taking advantage of this event. It’s exactly what our class intended when we approached the school about honoring Peter in this way.”
