Winter Carnival: A week of fun before February Break!
This week has been an exciting one at Lincoln Academy. As tradition holds, the final week before February Break is Winter Carnival, a spirited, weeklong celebration of class pride and friendly competition between grades. The schedule is packed with challenges, games, and events designed to earn Winter Carnival points and additional Faculty Shield points in our yearlong competition. Alongside themed dress-up days, daily Community Meetings feature faculty and students competing in events such as an obstacle course, volleyball, snow-sculpting, banner decorating, trivia, and an all-grade tug-of-war showdown. Adding to the festivities, Lincoln Academy Student Ambassadors hosted a special Valentine’s Day Dinner for our boarding students, complete with a curated menu, photo booth, and a dance party in KB Hall to close out the evening.
The arrival of February Break also marks the conclusion of the winter athletic season. We would like to congratulate all Lincoln Academy athletes and coaches for their hard work and dedication, with a special recognition for our boarding students who competed across various teams. Regardless of a team’s final record, we are proud of the many students who represented the ResLife program through their commitment and sportsmanship.Â
As winter sports wrap up, we now look ahead to the spring season. Sign-ups were posted this week, and we encourage students to be thoughtful and intentional in their decision to join a team. Participating in a spring sport is a meaningful commitment that requires organization, dedication, and perseverance. Students who join a spring sport are expected to attend all practices and competitions and understand that joining a team involves a months-long commitment.
As this week comes to a close, many in our community are quite excited about February Break, and at the same time, we are all particularly sad to say goodbye to a few more friends who are finishing up their time at Lincoln Academy. Cosimo, Liv, Valerie, and Veronika, it has been such a pleasure having you in the community. We wish you nothing but the best and hope that you keep in touch! We will miss you!
To our students departing from the dorm for break, please enjoy your time with family and friends. We are excited to welcome you back after your week away. For those of you who are staying in the dorm, we also look forward to a week of fun adventures, including dog sledding, dining out at various restaurants, a day-trip to Boston, and much more!
Be well and take care,
