The Lincoln Academy Booster concession stand at a previous fundraiser. The Lincoln Academy Boosters home basketball games on December 19 beginning at 5 pm will raise funds for the Student Sunshine Fund.

Lincoln Academy, in partnership with the Lincoln Academy All-School Boosters, will host a special Fundraising Event on Friday, December 19, 2025, during the varsity basketball doubleheader against Medomak Valley. The event will raise critical support for the LA Student Sunshine Fund, which provides direct assistance to students and families facing financial hardship.

The Student Sunshine Fund is a confidential, school-managed resource dedicated to ensuring that every student can access essential needs and opportunities. It helps cover items such as food and grocery gift cards, which account for roughly 80% of the fund’s annual expenditures, as well as warm clothing, reduced fees for AP exams, and emergency support such as home heating assistance in partnership with CHIP and the Community Energy Fund.

Over 40% of Lincoln Academy students and their families experience some level of financial hardship. The Student Sunshine Fund allows the school to respond quickly, compassionately, and effectively when students and families have an immediate need. 

The December 19th fundraiser aims to raise $2,500 through multiple opportunities for community participation:

  • $5 Donation Incentive: The first 100 donors who make a minimum $5 contribution will receive an exclusive Sunshine Fund sticker as a thank-you gift.
  • $100 Donor Reward: Anyone who makes a $100 donation will receive a season pass to all LA home athletic events for the 2025–2026 winter season.
  • 50/50 Raffle: Half the proceeds go to a lucky winner; the other half supports The Sunshine Fund.
  • Donations: To make giving as easy as possible, the Student Sunshine Fund will accept cash, credit/debit cards, and PayPal donations throughout the event.
  • Concession Stand Specials: Chili and Lemonade – All proceeds from chili and lemonade sales will directly support the fund.
  • Food Drive at the Entrance: Community members are encouraged to bring canned goods, non-perishable foods/snacks, and toiletries.

The December 19  games begin with Girls Varsity at 5:00 PM, followed by Boys Varsity at 6:30 PM. Students, families, alumni, and community members are encouraged to attend, cheer on their team, and help “shine some light” on a program that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of Lincoln Academy students.
