It’s ACC week! The Alumni Community Challenge (ACC) is the brainchild of alums Juliet Kelsey-Holmes ’92 and Dennis Prior ’91. It was born out of the spirit of pride for their alma mater and a bit of competitiveness as they challenged each other’s class to raise $1,801. Since those early efforts built mostly on a fun rivalry, the ACC has evolved into an inclusive and essential fundraising drive that includes all elements of our LA community. Our business partners, who employ and are owned and operated by LA alums, help lead the way by reaffirming the critical role the Academy plays as part of a business landscape here in the Midcoast, which keeps our community vibrant. The goal this year is to raise $80,000 this week to support the total annual fund goal of $340,000.

Melissa and I have so many reasons to support Lincoln Academy, but perhaps none so important as giving back to a community that has supported, welcomed, and challenged us in our 6 years in Newcastle. We have seen so many examples of how this community has supported the institution for 224 years, from the school spirit found at Homecoming celebrations to the support of restoring and raising our iconic bell tower. People across the towns we serve always show up when asked. Thank you.

Today I am asking you to join me and Melissa in supporting the ACC by making your gift in recognition of what you appreciate most in our school. Our commitment to remain reflective of and responsive to this community is stronger than ever and I look forward to a great finish to the year as we enter our final trimester of the year.

Thanks for all that you do for us and for the students that come through our doors, we could not do it without you.

Be well,
