Have you read the Talon yet? Pick up a copy at the front desk!
I am looking forward to a weekend of Lincoln Academy activities starting with Friday night’s performance of Sonnets to Orpheus. On Saturday evening, I’ll pick up my auction number for an evening of competitive bidding at the Annual Booster’s auction. I encourage you to attend both events if you can. The theater performance has received excellent reviews. The auction is an LA tradition you just have to experience for yourself, but it is true that a dozen donuts, baked by alum Paula Roberts can fetch up to $90 for a dozen. What can I say–they’re pretty darn good!
Included below is an article on the trimester academic character recognitions. This emerging tradition is a fun program where each teacher gets to recognize one student and write a few sentences about what they appreciate about them as a member of their classroom. Acknowledgement of academic progress, as well as the qualities of learners in our community is an important recognition of how effort and attitude go with skill and knowledge to build learning.
Third trimester is off to a great start, and it looks like the fields and courts are drying out in time to welcome the spring athletes. We have a number of choral and instrumentalists participating in All State competitions in the next few weeks, and soon campus will be busy with activity as we build toward graduation on June 6.
I hope to see many of you on campus this spring.
Be well,
