Snow, Ice and Everything Nice
This weekend, many of us hit the slopes for some fantastic skiing at Sugarloaf. It was a cold and bright day on the mountain, and we returned healthy, happy and tired. Several students skied and snowboarded for the first time, under the careful eye of the ski instructors. Others stayed in groups, tackling different terrain and warming up by the outdoor fire. Another ski trip is planned for March 2.
Next week, Lincoln Academy will host Winter Carnival! From Kelley Duffy, Director of Curriculum and Instruction: “This week students are starting to work on class banners and to plan their outfits for dress up days. Next week there will be Winter Carnival competitions every day, all leading up to the final challenges on Friday when we crown a Winter Carnival champion. This is one of the most fun activities of the year and we encourage everyone to join in some part of it. Check out our Flickr feed next week for pictures of all the fun!”

Suppose a student wishes to stay with a family during a vacation. In that case, Lincoln Academy Residential Life will make every effort to find a host family. Still, it is NOT Lincoln Academy’s responsibility to find host families for students wishing to stay in the area when the dorms are closed. If a student wishes to stay with a host family during vacation, the student’s family will be charged a daily fee of $75 per day per student by Lincoln Academy. A vacation homestay stipend will be paid to the host family to defray the cost of food, transportation, and entertainment expenses.
Vacation camps and other trips will be offered during the February and April vacations. Host family opportunities will not be offered during these vacations. Boarding students wishing to participate will be charged additional fees for these trips. It is important to sign up early for these opportunities.
