Back from Break, Finishing Trimester 2

We hope this newsletter finds you well-rested and rejuvenated after the February break. As we dive back into academics, we’re excited to embark on the final stretch of the second trimester with your incredible students. Winter sports season has come to an end, so students are enjoying a three-week break before the spring season starts in March.

Our next ski day at Sugarloaf is scheduled for this Sunday. Lincoln Academy’s upcoming dance is set for next Friday, March 7. It promises to be an evening filled with music, laughter, and memorable moments.

Athletics Update

2025 Spring Sports begin Monday, March 31. Spring sports include:

  • Baseball
  • Softball
  • Outdoor Track & Field (a non-cut sport. All registered athletes will practice & compete)
  • Boys & Girls Lacrosse
  • Boys & Girls Tennis

Spring Sport sign ups are now available in the dorm lobby. Please do not use Power School for spring sports signups. Your athlete can check their spring sport paperwork status by locating the team rosters under the athletics whiteboard, outside of the Admissions Office. If you have any questions, please email either Megan Day at day@lincolnacademy.org or KJ Anastasio at kj@lincolnacademy.org.

April Vacation: April 19-27

Our April trip to New York City filled up in record time. We have a great group of students who are traveling with us, and we are looking forward to a fun vacation week. Please pay the remaining balance of $1300 by March 14, 2025. This is the only April vacation programming being offered.

The dormitory will close during April vacation, so students not participating in the NYC trip must leave campus. Please submit travel plans into Orah by March 21, 2025.

Re-Enrollment for the 2025/26 School Year

Re-enrollment contracts were sent out in February, and we have set the deadline for submitting the signed contract and required $5,000 re-enrollment deposit as March 15. We appreciate a response about whether your student will re-enroll or not by this date. If you need an extension, this may be possible, too. Please contact Katy Nicketakis, Director of Admissions, at admissions@lincolnacademy.org with any questions about re-enrollments.

Be well and take care,

Monica Tan

Director of Residential Life

Approved 2024/ 2025 Resident Student Travel Dates

air travel

All air travel must be via Portland International Jetport — Airport code:  PWM

All arriving students MUST e-mail a flight itinerary to Ms. Monica Tan, Director of Residential Life, no later than July 15.

Suppose a student wishes to stay with a family during a vacation. In that case, Lincoln Academy Residential Life will make every effort to find a host family. Still, it is NOT Lincoln Academy’s responsibility to find host families for students wishing to stay in the area when the dorms are closed. If a student wishes to stay with a host family during vacation, the student’s family will be charged a daily fee of $75 per day per student by Lincoln Academy. A vacation homestay stipend will be paid to the host family to defray the cost of food, transportation, and entertainment expenses.

Vacation camps and other trips will be offered during the February and April vacations.  Host family opportunities will not be offered during these vacations.  Boarding students wishing to participate will be charged additional fees for these trips. It is important to sign up early for these opportunities.
