Winter Carnival, Valentine’s Day and Break!

It’s been a fun (and cold) week here at Lincoln Academy! Carnival Week is in full swing, and we’ve got a carousel of photos below to share with you all! For more pictures, check out our Lincoln Academy Flickr page.

We said goodbye to Isabel last week, and Lea is heading back to Germany this weekend. Both have contributed such joy and friendship to our dorm community. We wish them all the best!

Congratulations to all of our student athletes who have completed their winter season and to those who are continuing on to championship games and meets this weekend. Andrea, Rozalie, Nike, Kayla, Klim and Terry have all achieved great success this winter, and we wish them luck!

When we return after February vacation we have three short weeks until the end of the second trimester (March 13). Please check-in with your student about their academics as we approach this important date. Soon enough the flowers start popping up and the temperatures will warm and despite our love for winter, we are truly looking forward to longer days and warmer temperatures.

PSAT and SAT Testing

The PSAT10 will be offered for all Lincoln Academy Sophomores on Wednesday, March 19 in the Gym. Chromebooks will be provided and students should register by signing up with their advisor beginning the week of February 3, 2025. The last day to register is Friday, February 14, 2025. The cost is $18 and payment can be arranged by using your Emergency Fund Account. Please contact Monica Tan to facilitate that payment.

Lincoln Academy is hosting the SAT on March 8, 2025. Register by February 21st through the College Board. We will also be hosting the SAT on May 3rd. Register by April 18th through the College Board.

April Vacation: April 19-27

Our April trip to New York City filled up in record time. We have a great group of students who are traveling with us, and we are looking forward to a fun vacation week. Please pay the remaining balance of $1300 by March 14, 2025.

This is the only April vacation programming being offered. If you are not interested in this trip, please begin submitting your vacation plans into Orah.

Approved 2024/ 2025 Resident Student Travel Dates

All air travel must be via Portland International Jetport — Airport code: PWM

All arriving students MUST e-mail a flight itinerary to Ms. Monica Tan, Director of Residential Life, no later than July 15.

Suppose a student wishes to stay with a family during a vacation. In that case, Lincoln Academy Residential Life will make every effort to find a host family. Still, it is NOT Lincoln Academy’s responsibility to find host families for students wishing to stay in the area when the dorms are closed. If a student wishes to stay with a host family during vacation, the student’s family will be charged a daily fee of $75 per day per student by Lincoln Academy. A vacation homestay stipend will be paid to the host family to defray the cost of food, transportation, and entertainment expenses.

Vacation camps and other trips will be offered during the February and April vacations. Host family opportunities will not be offered during these vacations. Boarding students wishing to participate will be charged additional fees for these trips. It is important to sign up early for these opportunities.
