Happy New Year!

We hope this message finds you well-rested and ready to continue the second trimester. As we welcome 2025, we are thrilled to have our students back on campus after the rejuvenating holiday break.

It brings us joy to announce that two new students have joined our ResLife family this year: Nicola from Italy and Krystie from Vietnam.   Our dedicated and friendly boarding students will help ease their adjustment by providing support and helping them settle into the Lincoln Academy community.

To kick off the New Year, we have planned a full weekend of activities. This includes snow tubing, a trip to Target, the YMCA, and a period of Open Gym.  Additionally, for the brave at heart, we have organized a New Year’s Polar Plunge into the waters of the Damariscotta River. It’s sure to be a thrilling and memorable experience for all participants!

February Break

We will offer a February Break dorm-stay from Saturday, February 15-Sunday February 23.   Students will be supervised by LA dorm staff and faculty throughout the break.  Daily activities will be scheduled to enrich the stay and capitalize on all of the rich cultural and recreational opportunities in the area.  These include snow tubing, skiing, a Boston day trip (if weather allows), swimming, and trips to the cinema.  The cost is $1100, inclusive of food, activities, and transportation.  Please use this form to indicate if your student will stay for February Break.

As we dive into the new year, let’s embrace the opportunities for growth, learning, and friendship that await us at Lincoln Academy. We’re excited to see what amazing accomplishments and experiences this year will bring!

Be well and take care,

Monica Tan

Director of Residential Life

Approved 2024/ 2025 Resident Student Travel Dates

air travel

All air travel must be via Portland International Jetport — Airport code:  PWM

All arriving students MUST e-mail a flight itinerary to Ms. Monica Tan, Director of Residential Life, no later than July 15.

Suppose a student wishes to stay with a family during a vacation. In that case, Lincoln Academy Residential Life will make every effort to find a host family. Still, it is NOT Lincoln Academy’s responsibility to find host families for students wishing to stay in the area when the dorms are closed. If a student wishes to stay with a host family during vacation, the student’s family will be charged a daily fee of $75 per day per student by Lincoln Academy. A vacation homestay stipend will be paid to the host family to defray the cost of food, transportation, and entertainment expenses.

Vacation camps and other trips will be offered during the February and April vacations.  Host family opportunities will not be offered during these vacations.  Boarding students wishing to participate will be charged additional fees for these trips. It is important to sign up early for these opportunities.
