For the third year in a row, Lincoln Academy was named Best Private Secondary School in Down East magazine’s annual Best of Maine issue.
Winners of the “Best of Maine” awards are nominated and voted on by readers of Down East Magazine and voted on in many categories, including education.
As a town academy, Lincoln Academy operates as an independent school, and therefore is eligible in the Private School category, even though the majority of students have tuition paid by their sending town. Lincoln Academy currently serves 585 students from 18 midcoast towns and 18 countries around the world.
“We are humbled and gratified to have won this honor for the third year in a row,” said Head of School Jeff Burroughs. “We believe it says a lot about not only Lincoln Academy, but life in the midcoast in general. We are in excellent company with other midcoast restaurants, stores, and nonprofits that have been honored in the midcoast.”
The full list of “Best of Maine” winners appears in the September, 2024 issue of Down East.
