Midway Through our Final Trimester

By now,  you should have received your student’s mid-trimester grades. Please be sure to check in with your student about their progress and plans to finish the academic year strongly.  For questions or concerns, please contact your student’s teachers directly.

May is full of academic work and tests including the SAT, AP and NWEA exams.  State required testing for sophomores starts next week. The sophomore NWEA will be administered during study halls between April 29th and May 10th. Most students will miss two study halls during this testing window.

Juniors will take a state science assessment, the New Meridian ADAM test on one of two testing days, May 21st and May 22nd. This testing will take place on the morning of each day.   If students are absent on the day of a test, they will need to make it up.

The Lincoln Academy campus is a flurry of activity these days, with many tennis, lacrosse, baseball and softball games happening every day  When the weather cooperates, crowds gather to support our athletes and soak up the sun with a game of frisbee or volleyball.  This past weekend, students enjoyed a trip to the Maine Mall to prepare for Prom.  Suits and dresses are being ordered and altered for this occasion.  Anticipation is growing for our final weeks of celebrations!

In addition to the campus-wide celebrations, ResLife marks the end of the year with plenty of our own. There will be beach trips and a full day of kayaking and campfire at the end of May.  On Monday, May 27, Americans celebrate Memorial Day.  We mark this day of remembrance with a parade, featuring the Lincoln Academy band, followed by a lobster bake at Pemaquid Point.   Our last community meeting will feature an end-of-the-year slideshow that will celebrate our year together and bid farewell to our seniors.  We are committed to finding the balance between academic success and recreation- allowing our students to enjoy themselves and recover from the stresses of exams.

Graduation is Friday, June 7. For more details about senior week, check out the 2024 Graduation Week Events page on the LA website, as well as the Student Edition of Senior Week events, which includes more information about marching practice, materials owed, and other details that are essential for the Class of 2024.
