On May 7, 2024, Lincoln Academy’s Olympia Leaders attended the Spring Conference at Bates College in Lewiston. The Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute is a program that was created by former US senator Olympia Snowe because she wanted to give back to her home state. The mission of the program is to help give high school girls the opportunity to acquire confidence and leadership skills to fulfill their dreams and aspirations in all aspects of their lives.

The event was a great opportunity for leaders to connect with other leaders from schools across the state, celebrate achievements and growth throughout the year, and congratulate the seniors who are graduating from the program this year. This is our very first cohort from LA that has graduated since the program was brought to us. The seniors who graduated from the program this year are Kayla Cruz, Lucy White, and Violet Bailey.

“The members of the program want nothing but the best for you, and knowing I had that support system pushed me to try new things throughout high school,” said Kayla Cruz.

The seniors recieved a chord to place on their graduation gowns, a certificate, a pin, and their letters to self that they wrote sophomore year. We are so proud of our graduates and wish them the best of luck after high school. We are also proud of our sophomores and juniors for completing another year in the program. Congratulations girls!

Khloe Luce ‘26 is a sophomore who is a part of the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute. She loves the program and has already learned so much after just one year.
