The World Languages Department is proud to announce the strong performance of Lincoln Academy’s Spanish students in Levels 1-3, on the National Spanish Exam this spring. The NSE is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, is an online, standardized assessment competition for grades 6 -12, given voluntarily by about 75,000 middle and high school teachers throughout the United States, to measure performance and achievement of students who are studying Spanish as a second language.

Awards are given based on a student’s percentile score on all sections of the exam: reading and listening comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar. The student’s score is based on the national ranking of all students who took the exam. Unlike the National French Exam, there is no state ranking. Students placing in the top 25% will be recognized at a community meeting.

A gold medal is awarded to students scoring at or above the 95th percentile. A silver medal is awarded to students scoring from the 85th through the 94th percentiles. A bronze medal is awarded to students scoring from the 75th through the 84th percentiles.

Level III: Luigi Sansone is being awarded a silver medal. Dylan Burmeister and Anna Lupien are being awarded a bronze medal. Niki Brank is being recognized as an Honorable Mention in the Outside Classroom Experience category.
