Lincoln Academy’s fitness center will have upgrades to the facility and equipment in the summer of 2024 thanks to support from the LA Boosters.

Students and Staff at Lincoln Academy will enjoy improved facilities in the school’s fitness center thanks to a generous donation from Lincoln Academy Boosters.

Earlier this spring the school received a check in the amount of 5,000. These funds will help replace fitness equipment that is either aging out or no longer working. This is the second year that LA Boosters have pledged during the Alumni Community Challenge to support this important part of the school.

Improvements to the fitness center will benefit almost everyone in the LA community. The facility is used during the school day for wellness classes, including Fitness and Weight Training. After school, teams use the facility during practice, and staff and students in the residential program use the facility on evenings and weekends.

Current Booster President Dennis Prior said that “the Boosters are happy to contribute funds toward equipment for the school’s fitness center. We feel it is critical that our school maintain a facility that contributes to a healthy student body, utilizes well maintained equipment and is a welcoming and a versatile space for all of our students, student athletes, faculty and staff.”

While fitness and athletics at Lincoln Academy continue to be a focus of the Boosters fundraising efforts, they also happily support the whole student experience. Boosters raise funds through concession sales, the annual Booster Auction, and other fundraisers. The funds raised support many different groups within the school, including all athletic teams as well as Music, Drama, Debate, Cap, Gown and Yearbook Fund, the Eagle’s Talon student newspaper, and EdLab, and others.
