Back from Break and Charging Ahead

We hope this newsletter finds you well-rested and rejuvenated after the February break. As we dive back into the swing of things, we’re excited to embark on the final stretch of the second trimester with your incredible students.

PSAT Registration for Sophomores: Just a friendly reminder that PSAT registration for sophomores is underway and must be completed by March 6th. This standardized test offers valuable insights and practice for college readiness. For more information and registration details, please refer to the testing page of our website or feel free to reach out to Ms. Tan via email.

Our next ski day at Sugarloaf is scheduled for this Sunday. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to unwind and enjoy some outdoor fun.

Lincoln Academy’s upcoming dance is set for next Friday, March 8. It promises to be an evening filled with music, laughter, and memorable moments.

We are immensely proud of our ResLife students for their active involvement in the NEASC Accreditation process. NEASC Accreditation is a globally recognized standard of excellence that attests to a school’s high quality and integrity. Our students’ participation in interviews provided invaluable feedback about their experience at Lincoln Academy, contributing significantly to our ongoing commitment to excellence.

SAT/ TOEFL and AP Testing Information

SAT Test: Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Lincoln Academy

Registration deadline for Students: February 23, 2024

PSAT Test: Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Lincoln Academy

Lincoln Academy is offering the PSAT for Sophomores, in the Gym on Tuesday, March 20th during the school day. This standardized test is optional. For sophomores who wish to participate, a fee of $18 cash or check (made out to Lincoln Academy) or $20 for credit card payment is due to the Career and Academic Office (CAC) no later than March 6th.

Approved Resident Student Travel Dates

All air travel must be via Portland International Jetport — Airport code: PWM

All arriving students MUST e-mail a flight itinerary to Ms. Monica Tan, Director of Residential Life mtan@lincolnacademy.org

Traveling on Approved Travel Dates

Lincoln Academy only provides transportation to and from Portland at no cost when students travel on approved travel dates. Transportation is to the Portland International Jetport (PWM) or the Concord Coach Bus Station. Lincoln Academy may provide transportation to or from Boston (BOS) airport for a fee.

Whenever possible, Lincoln Academy will provide transportation for students who are traveling on non-approved travel dates. Transportation on non-approved travel dates incurs a fee. Students and families may also arrange for transportation from Lincoln Academy on the Concord Coach Bus line or with a local taxi. These services are likely to be very expensive. Transportation on non-approved travel dates must be approved by the Director of Resident Life at least 48 hours before the student leaves campus.

Transportation Fee Schedule

Student transportation to Portland on approved travel dates: NO CHARGE
Student transportation to Portland on non-approved travel dates: $125 one-way (6 am – 9 pm)
Student transportation to Portland on non-approved travel dates: $175 one-way (9 pm – 6 am)
Student transportation to Boston: $500 one-way

Families and students are always urged to plan well ahead. In an emergency, Lincoln Academy will make every effort to accommodate a student’s needs. Students and families are expected to provide copies of all travel plans and flight itineraries to the Office of Residence Life at least two weeks prior to travel.
