Deep Winter & Cold Plunging!
Greetings from frigid Midcoast Maine, where today’s high was just -1º celsius. Our students enjoyed a fun-filled weekend here on campus. The highlight was undoubtedly the Polar Dip, where brave souls took the plunge into icy waters of the Damariscotta River. It was a fantastic display of courage and camaraderie! This weekend, we head to Sugarloaf ski mountain for a fantastic day on the slopes. Some of our students will be on skis for the first time, while more experienced students will enjoy great conditions and crisp, cold weather. Stay tuned for pictures!
We’d like to draw your attention to some important updates on the ResLife website. New SAT, TOEFL and AP testing information has been added, including details about upcoming examinations. Please note that SATs will be administered at Lincoln Academy on March 9 and again in May. Be sure to check the website for any additional information and resources regarding testing.
Our school career and academic counselors have begun meeting individually with all members of the Junior class. These sessions serve as both a check-in and an opportunity to start planning for the future beyond LA. It’s an important time for our juniors to begin exploring their post-graduation plans, and our counselors are here to offer guidance and support every step of the way.
We are looking forward to a busy end to the winter sports season, as competition heats up! We have just 2 weeks before our February break, which will be a welcomed respite from these busy weeks. Just before that break, Lincoln Academy students will enjoy a fun Carnival Week, complete with costumes, games and school spirit. Carnival celebrates our community and is a reprieve from rigorous academic demands. Each day is assigned a theme and students, faculty and staff are invited to wear costumes during the day. Each day of the week, students gather in the gym for games and friendly (and fiery) competitions. Check out this post from last year’s Carnival Week, where you’ll get a glimpse of the fun!
Be well and take care,
