Lincoln Academy’s Pumpkinfest tradition continued on October 6, when four National Art Honor Society students gave up part of their long weekend to paint the LA giant pumpkin. As Poe Theater and its banner sign is in close proximity to the pumpkin, they chose to work with the theme of this fall’s LA theater production: The Crucible, also appropriate for Halloween.

Drawing on what they learned in English classes when studying the book, they borrowed iconography such as the girls dancing around a cauldron, fire, trees, and a church to depict scenes from the narrative. Participants were: seniors Lucy White, Ella Pendleton, Emily Boone, and sophomore Emory Shadis.
