October Updates
We are halfway through the first trimester! Grades are currently being processed and mid-trimester grade reports will be sent to families this week. Please be on the lookout for a group message on WhatsApp to prompt you to check your email for grades and let us know if you have any difficulty reviewing your student’s report.
We are continuing to monitor chickenpox infections in our community. Students who present with pox are moved into an isolated quarantine area and parents are notified directly. In nearly all cases, students have presented mild symptoms only. We will continue to send updates and details as it is necessary.
Seniors: The yearbook team is busy commemorating this special year for the Class of 2023. Please see the message below for details on how to submit yearbook photos, including baby photos. Let us know if you need assistance.
Flu vaccines are required for all Residential Life students and will be administered on Thursday, October 20 during a school-wide clinic. Students may be called from class to the Health Center for vaccinations. In addition to the flu vaccine, any student who didn’t receive the covid booster in our previous process will also get this booster shot on Thursday.
Please mark your calendar for the upcoming school vacations in November, December, February and April. The dorms close for two weeks in December, and for one week for each of the school vacations in February and April. Students should enter their travel plans for these school vacations in Orah. There are no classes the week of Thanksgiving, but the dorms will be open and the Residential Life program is planning some exciting activities for students who remain on campus. Students will experience Thanksgiving traditions including community service opportunities, share a special holiday meal, and more!
As always, please be in touch with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Jake Abbott
