April Showers Bring May Flowers
Welcome to the month of April! The stretch of springtime leading to the end of the school year tends to go by very quickly – this month includes a week of school vacation and our community gets outside a lot for fun and adventure. As the saying goes, time flies when you are having fun!
COVID Update: We continue to see a slow spread of COVID in our community. We were hopeful that this week might mark the end of it, but we had a few more positive cases. We are in touch with the families of impacted students and we are working hard to isolate and take universal precautions to stop any additional spread. Please reach out with questions and concerns.
April vacation plans were due to the Residential Life office on Friday. I am still confirming some plans and will be in direct contact with parents with questions. Please be on the lookout in your email for an Orah request for your child’s leave request so that you can provide the required approval of their vacation plans.
Lincoln Academy Drama’s original production Silk Cove opened on March 25th. Our community has been eager to return to the Poe Theater and 25 members of Residential Life attending a showing on Thursday evening – what a great way to support fellow LA students! Mr. Cordero brought four Residential Life students to the Boston area last weekend for a college tour which included stops at Boston College, Bentley University, Wheaton College, Tufts University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Students visited campuses, met admissions staff, and learned about the college application process in the US.
The end of the school year is quickly approaching and this is an especially busy time for students who will be graduating in June. Senior families, please be on the lookout for a special invitation to graduation events. We look forward to celebrating with you!
Sincerely,
Jake Abbott
Dean of Students and Director of Residential Life
