Residential Life Update – March 6, 2022

End of Trimester 2

Friday, March 11 officially marks the end of the second trimester!  We are now two-thirds of the way through this school year and time is moving fast!  Students should review assignment deadlines and be in touch with teachers if they have any questions or concerns.  Parents, please check in with your student to ask questions, push a little where needed, and let me know if you have any questions or concerns about academics!  Grade reports will be sent to families by email later this month.

This past weekend included a trip to a local Escape Room, a trip to the local Asian Market and Trader Joe’s for some fun and non-regional supplies, an evening spa night in the dorm for pampering and relaxation, and a big-time full-day ski trip to Sugarloaf mountain, one of Maine’s premier ski destinations!

As we are now just six weeks away from April vacation it is necessary to finalize your plans for April break.  ALL VACATION NEEDS AND PLANS MUST BE DELIVERED TO THE RESIDENTIAL LIFE OFFICE BY FRIDAY, APRIL 1ST.   This is our last vacation of the school year and dorms will be closed April 16-24. Payments for the Myrtle Beach Trip (now full) are due March 15.  There may be a limited number of homestays.  More details on vacation programs here: https://lincolnacademy.org/vacation-programming/

A reminder that travel dates for the next school year have been finalized and are available here: https://lincolnacademy.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Approved-Res-Life-Travel-Dates-2022_2023.pdf  Please note the distinct arrival dates for students planning to take part in Fall Athletics.  Be in touch with any questions.

Thank you to everyone who made a gift in support of Lincoln Academy’s Alumni Community Challenge!  This is our biggest fundraising event of the year and more than $70,000 has been raised for the Annual Fund.  Your gifts support this year’s operating expenses for Lincoln Academy including faculty and staff salaries, academic programming, facilities operations, and extracurricular activities.  We are so grateful for your support!

Sincerely,

Jake Abbott
Dean of Students and Director of Residential Life
Lincoln Academy
