Scenes from the National Honor Society Induction on March 4 and 5, 2021

As the invited speaker for the National Honor Society induction ceremony last week, Bryan Manahan shared with us how much he misses the noise of school, the rustle of backpacks, the greetings amongst friends, even the noise disrupting the beginning of class. As has been common in my two years as Head of School, Bryan is a tough act to follow. Sitting there in our in-person NHS celebration, I was reminded of the importance of tradition and ritual, and I share Mr.Manahan’s desire to work with student leaders to rebuild our long standing school traditions, including Homecoming, Community Meeting, concerts, and games with spectators when we return to full capacity in September.

The end of the second trimester is at hand, and I know I am excited to begin the new term next week and see my students twice a week. I am also eagerly awaiting the start of the spring sports season, and the outdoor performances being planned by our actors and musicians.

There is a great deal to look forward to as we turn the corner on this unique year at Lincoln Academy. Thanks for all you have done to support LA.

Be well and stay safe.
