Mr. Mess kicks off the Art Fundamentals 3D project by handing out supplies
Art Fundamentals focuses on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. In Mr and Ms. Mess’s classes, students’ final challenge of the trimester is to create volumetric form from the most basic of sculptural materials–paper and tape–to design a dynamic suspended paper sculpture. They are also challenged to explore ways to incorporate the Principles of Design rhythm and contrast to create order and focal point as they attach their paper forms to each other. Finished sculptures will be suspended from the ceiling to allow them to be experienced in the round.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Mess’s Art Fundamentals classes are working on this final assignment and hope to install the finished sculptures so they can be experienced by the whole LA community.
