December 6, 2020
Dear Students and Families,
As you should all know, Lincoln Academy will continue with remote learning through December 18th. Thank you for your flexibility as we navigate this challenging season.
I know that many people have questions about what school will look like over the next two weeks. Here are some details that will hopefully help answer any questions you may have.
- Classes will operate on the exact same schedule we used during hybrid learning. The only exception to this is that we are testing a new, shortened Wednesday schedule. This new schedule was created in response to student feedback. Both schedules can be found below.
- All assignments will be posted on Canvas and all work should be submitted through Canvas.
- Anytime a student would have had an in-person class or a synchronous class, they will now have a synchronous class. GoogleMeet links can be found in the Canvas module for each week.
- Synchronous classes may not always last the full 55 minutes, but attendance will be taken for all synchronous classes.
- Students who were already fully remote should join synchronous classes with their alphabetical group.
- Vocational students are expected to go to Bath Tech on the days they would typically go. Lincoln Academy will provide transportation from Lincoln Academy to Bath Vocational Center during the next two weeks of virtual learning. Morning vocational students should report to the bus no later than 7:30am for morning voc classes and have someone pick them up at Lincoln Academy at 11 am. Afternoon vocational students should report to the bus no later than 10:55 am for afternoon voc classes and have someone pick them up at 2:15pm. If transportation to or from Lincoln Academy will cause a hardship, please contact Sarah Wills-Viega by email (wills-viega@lincolnacademy.org) to discuss transportation needs. If, for some reason, students cannot attend in person, they are expected to complete the daily virtual work assigned.
- Students involved in special programs (Alternative Education, IDEAL, Life Skills) will receive additional information about their programming from their teachers.
- Advisor groups will meet virtually from 12:30-1:00 each day. Advisors will send out GoogleMeet links. Students must attend at least two advisor sessions a week.
- Community Meeting will continue to be shown during Advisor on Thursday & Friday.
- Extracurriculars will continue to happen during the regularly scheduled time on Thursday and Friday. GoogleMeet links are available here. Discipline specific academic support sessions are also available at this time!
- If students need to pick up materials for classes (art supplies, clay, lab materials etc), pick up can happen through the main office between 9:30-1pm each day. If these times don’t work, please contact Carole Brinkler in the main office to schedule an alternate pick up time.
- Food will be available for pick up Monday-Friday from 7:00-9:00am and 4:00-5:30pm. If you are in need of food, please email Chef Mikael at chef.andersson@lincolnacademy.org. Food deliveries can be arranged.
We recognize that remote learning is challenging in many ways. The most important tool during this time is communication. Please don’t hesitate to contact your advisor, your teachers, your guidance counselor or administration with any questions or concerns. You can always schedule one-on-one GoogleMeet sessions with teachers during Office Hours.
We also recommend that you follow a schedule each day. Set aside specific time to work for each class. To the best of your ability, find a quiet place to work. Keep teachers informed about issues you are having with technology and/or internet connectivity.
Finally, we encourage you to think of this period of remote learning as a “pause” of in-person school. It is a mini-unit in the trimester, but we intend to return to in-person learning following the holidays. This pause is intended to minimize disruptions to teaching and learning and to maximize safety for all our constituents as so many families make different plans for the holidays.
Thank you again for your support. Please be in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

Director of Curriculum and Instruction
