LA Librarian Laura Phelps and junior class officer Addie Brinkler with Thanksgiving baskets on their way to the Ecumenical Food Pantry on November 20.
This Thanksgiving the Lincoln Academy Class of 2022 donated $500 and 11 Thanksgiving Baskets to the Ecumenical Food Pantry in Newcastle.
The funds were raised during the Homecoming Coin Slam in September, which was won by the junior class. Juniors Olivia Stiles and Grace Houghton led the effort to raise money from advisor groups and win the coin slam, and they presented a check for $500 to Linda Sandefur of the Ecumenical Food pantry on November 23.
The “everything but the turkey” baskets were donated to local families before Thanksgiving through the food pantry. This annual donation is coordinated through junior advisor groups by Junior Team Leader Laura Phelps and junior class officers.
