We don’t know what life will bring, so it is what we bring to life that matters.

I hope that I never stop finding reasons for gratitude here at Lincoln Academy. This week stands above many others: I am deeply grateful to the boys soccer players, managers, coaches, and families for enduring their quarantine. We all remember what it felt like when we hunkered down last spring, stopped driving, and sheltered in place. We know how hard that was, and I give my most sincere thank you to the boys varsity and jv teams. Your commitment to keep our community safe by completing this quarantine is deeply appreciated.

We will all need this kind of commitment in the weeks ahead: wearing masks, filling out prescreen forms, and making good decisions about activities outside of school will help keep school open as we head into winter. As the calendar year draws to an end, there will certainly be bumps in the road as well as moments to celebrate. Knowing that we can ask one another to take action for the good of us all is deeply reassuring.

Finally, a quick congrats to Ms. Halm and the Debate Team for their national recognition and to our Boys XC for their second-place finish at KVACs. Congrats to all the fall teams for battling through an unprecedented season and representing LA. You make us proud.

Be well and stay safe.
